A Stream Runs Through It - -

For over two dozen Indiana Flower & Patio Show landscapers, it is challenge enough to design your own fabulous Showcase Garden.  The bar has been set extraordinarily high by the area’s finest outdoor living artists throughout the show’s 52-year history.

So just imagine what it must be like, to be tapped to design and install a component that meanders through five individual garden displays. Steve Wicker knows what it’s like - first-hand.  And you’ll fully enjoy the results of his labors during this year’s show, March 13-21.

Wicker, who co-owns southside Indianapolis’ Cool Ponds with wife Staci, is renowned for design and installation of innovative water features – ponds, streams and pondless waterfalls.  Show visitors will remember his salute to Indiana’s state parks, complete with stream and covered bridge, from a couple of years ago.  (The bridge, by the way, was auctioned off after the show with proceeds going to charity.)

For this year’s exhibition, we tapped Steve to create a stream that winds through a total of five Showcase Gardens.  The stream originates and ends at Cool Ponds’ garden displays.  In between, it flows through gardens created by Franco Landscaping, The Noll Group and VIVE Exterior Design – winding under bridges erected along the main garden aisle.  As far as we can ascertain, this is the first time one feature has “touched” multiple Showcase Gardens.

Be sure to check out this first-of-its-kind highlight at the 52nd annual Indiana Flower & Patio Show!
