Featuring all the elements you would find at your local tavern but in a backyard setting, Aspen's 2012 garden entitled "Happy Hour" is the ultimate outdoor living space.

The central gathering area is the outdoor kitchen and lounge area complete with a built-in grill, refrigerator, water post, and sitting area around the bar for those evenings when the adults want to unwind.

For family events, a life-size Jenga will keep the kids and kids-at-heart entertained while the firepit area creates a cozy retreat on cool evenings.

The entire garden is landscaped using traditional screening plants like Norway Spruce and Arborvitae, more obscure plants like Clump Trinity Pears and plenty of seasonal color from perennials and bulbs.

Whether one is into entertaining, spending time with family, or just wanting to sit by a peaceful fire, Aspen can create the perfect outdoor living space.

From the moment you walk up to our garden, you realize the unique and individual personality of the space. You are immediately greeted by the Standing horse topiary and catch filtered views of the running of the derby as a backdrop to our garden.

The main structure of the garden is a covered living space with open rafters and hanging "silks" paying homage to the racing horses and their jockeys. The focal point of the covered space is the unique and creative fire element with several rings of fire.

As you exit the living space you are immediately drawn into the luxurious outdoor kitchen and bar with a pergola above to cut down on the sunlight and tv for viewing the game. The kitchen space is stocked with all the latest grill equipment and appliances.

As you stand in the garden you realize the strategically placed plantings such as flowering magnolias, serviceberry, and of course, red roses. The plantings were as carefully considered into the final design as the placement of the covered living space.

As you exit the garden you are bid farewell by the sound of our clean and contemporary pondless water feature made of a piece of Indiana Limestone. You are once again reminded of the attention of detail you have come to expect from BPI.

Garden Description

This sublime landscape takes is inspiration from the rough landscape of the Grecian culture and the ruined artifacts that harkened back to ancient times. Centered around the ancient story of "The Oracle of Delphi." This was the site of the most important prophet in the classical Greek world, and a major site for the worship of the god Apollo after he slew the Python, a deity who lived there and protected the navel of the earth.

People came from all over Greece to have their questions about the future answered by the Pythia, the priestess of Apollo. Her answers were typically very crytic and could determine everything from the when a farmer should plant his crop to when and empire declared war.

In this garden, we paid homage to the Oracle by creating a likeness of the ruined temple where the oracle would sit above the "Navel of the World." Flowing from this archetypal image springs forth a water feature surrounded by natural, unplanned groupings of plants that attempt to feel as if they've cropped up here and there amongst the ledge stones.

Achieving a rocking, yet cost effect look will be achieved with a revolutionary new product developed by "Rosetta" called the "Belvedere Collection" and "Outcropping Collection." This product is made from concrete but is formed by using real stone so it has the ease of installation of manufactured block, but the natural affect of real stone.

Also highlighted in the garden is a mural inspired by Greek paintings and recreated by using another new technique called "Tile Sublimation."

One image is transferred with a polymer to a large grouping of tiles that actually becomes part of the tile itself. Useful both outdoors and indoors, it can be a stunning addition to a new home outdoor garden.

We thought it appropriate to design this toga inspired garden in the year 2012 with the mystical underpinnings of the Oracle of Delphi to both excited and question the direction of new landscapes in the Indianapolis market. Essentially, Oktoberfest is a time to celebrate the changing season. Typically, Oktoberfest begins in the third weekend of September and runs through the first Sunday of October. The celebration originated with Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig when he married Princess Therese in 1810. The citywide celebration was so popular, the Prince decided to make the event annual. It has been growing strong in Bavaria and become a internationally recognized event, with Oktoberfests happening around the world.

The Indiana Flower & Patio show and Dave's Lawn & Landscape scales the size of the event back a bit. Garden Description

Stonycreek Farm, Nursery & Landscapings Earth Day Celebration garden focuses on ways to lessen our negative impact or "carbon footprint" on the Earth.

Starting with a driveway of permeable pavers to reduce water runoff, the garden continues into a carport with a green "living" roof. The living roof shelters a hybrid car.

Rainwater collected on the living roof, not absorbed by plants, will run off into a rain barrel for use in watering the garden. Overflow from the rain barrel flows to a bioswale rain garden. The bioswale rain garden filters silt and pollution from the roof runoff.

A windbreak of white pines reduces heat loss from the home. Deciduous shade trees will help cool the home in the summer and allow for solar heating in the winter when leaves drop.

Landscaping materials are all edible and cooking is done on the patio with a solar oven.
