INDIANAPOLIS - Greenfield-based Brower-Jacques Design is winner of the inaugural People’s Choice Award at the 54th annual Indiana Flower & Patio Show.
Visitors to this year’s show were asked to vote for their favorite Showcase Gardens using the “ultimate green” – dollar bills. Each dollar equaled one vote, with all contributions benefiting a wide range of not-for-profit organizations selected by the landscape designers. Brower-Jacques’ elaborate Toga Party-themed garden amassed a whopping $1357 to benefit ALS of Indiana.

INDIANAPOLIS - Nature’s Choice Landscaping, known for its “landscapes inspired by nature,” has been selected by Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard as recipient of the 2012 Mayor’s Award for outstanding garden at the 54th annual Indiana Flower & Patio Show.
The Brownsburg-based company won for its “Sunken Garden Party”-themed area - one of over 40 Showcase and Featured Exhibitors’ Gardens on display at the show, taking place now through Sunday, March 18 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds West Pavilion and Expo Hall. The winning garden is an intimate outdoor living space featuring imaginative use of hardscape materials, plants, water and fire features, wine racks, plus conversation and dining areas in a compact square footage.

INDIANAPOLIS - Award-winning journalist Ward Degler will appear throughout the 54th annual Indiana Flower & Patio Show to sign copies of his book, The Dark Ages of My Youth and Times More Recent.
The book, touted as “a charming walk through both the past and present,” is a selected collection of
weekly columns written by Degler between 1993 and 2010 for the Zionsville Times Sentinel. The

Indiana Flower & Patio Show fans invited to view 'The Build' March 3-4 at State Fairgrounds
INDIANAPOLIS – The 54th annual Indiana Flower & Patio Show will open its doors one week
early again this year for what has become a highly anticipated pre-show event among fans of Central
Indiana's original finer outdoor living show.
On Saturday, March 3 and Sunday, March 4, at 12 noon and 3 pm, free tours of the Indiana State
Fairgrounds’ West Pavilion will be offered as “The Build” begins and the “bones” of the 20
Showcase Gardens begin to take shape. Full-grown trees, gigantic rocks, hefty hardscapes, and tons
of sand will be moved from here to there throughout the building. Guests will marvel as Indiana’s
premier landscape designers create outdoor living magic - and share secrets that easily and
inexpensively can be incorporated into the visitors’ own backyards, decks, porches or patios.
